Terms and Conditions

Last updated and effective: 20 October 2026

The key points

  • These terms are an agreement between you and THEINVESTMENTANALYST.COM LTD.
  • There are two Plans: The Investment Analyst Monthly (£20 a month) and The Investment Analyst Annual (£200 a year). Prices exclude tax: any applicable taxes are added at checkout.
  • New members can try the full library free for 14 days. One free trial per person.
  • Your Plan renews automatically until you cancel. You can cancel at any time.
  • You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of paying for a Plan (see clause 8).
  • Everything we provide is education. It is not investment advice.
  • XP, levels, badges, streaks and leaderboard places have no cash value.

These key points are a summary. The full terms below are what apply.

1. Who we are and how these terms work

1.1 This website is run by THEINVESTMENTANALYST.COM LTD, a company registered in England and Wales with company number 14845454. Our registered office is 71-75 Shelton Street, Covent Garden, London WC2H 9JQ, United Kingdom. We trade as TheInvestmentAnalyst.com. In these terms, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company.

1.2 These terms apply to everyone who uses the Website or the Services. By using the Website, creating an Account or starting a trial or Plan, you agree to them. If you do not agree, please stop using the Website.

1.3 Clauses 4 to 10 also apply when you start a trial or buy a Plan.

1.4 If your employer, university or another organization has a separate written agreement with us for your access, that agreement takes priority over these terms where the two differ.

1.5 You can contact us at support@theinvestmentanalyst.com (support), billing@theinvestmentanalyst.com (payments and invoices), or by post at our registered office.

2. Definitions

In these terms:

  • "Account" means your account on the Website, with your sign-in details, profile and learning history.
  • "Apps" means our mobile apps for iPhone, iPad and Android.
  • "Content" means anything on the Website or in the Services, including courses, programs, videos, text, questions, data, images, software and code.
  • "Plan" means a paid subscription to the full library: The Investment Analyst Monthly or The Investment Analyst Annual.
  • "Services" means the e-learning platform at the Website and in the Apps, including its courses and programs, the InsightOne learner dashboard, skills checks and assessments, the Ava AI coach, market tools, progress features and any related tools we make available.
  • "Website" means www.theinvestmentanalyst.com and its sub-domains, unless a sub-domain has its own terms.
  • "you" means the person using the Website or the Services.

3. Your Account

3.1 You must be 18 or over to start a trial or buy a Plan. Anyone under 18 should use the Website only with the supervision of a parent or guardian, who must provide or approve any payment details.

3.2 The information you give us must be accurate, and you must keep it up to date.

3.3 Your Account is for you alone. Do not share your password or let anyone else use your Account. If you think someone else has used your Account, tell us straight away at support@theinvestmentanalyst.com.

3.4 For your security, you are signed out after 60 minutes without activity.

3.5 Your username and profile must follow the rules in clause 15.

4. Plans and prices

4.1 There are two Plans, and both give access to the full library:

  • The Investment Analyst Monthly: £20 a month.
  • The Investment Analyst Annual: £200 a year.

4.2 Prices exclude tax: any applicable taxes are added at checkout. Depending on where you live, this may include VAT, US state sales tax or other taxes. The total you pay is shown at checkout before you confirm.

4.3 Prices for purchases in our Apps are set by Apple or Google and may differ (see clause 9).

4.4 Some courses on the Website are free to everyone. Everything else needs a trial or a Plan.

4.5 Your access starts as soon as your trial or Plan begins.

5. Free trial

5.1 New members can start a 14-day free trial of the full library. You do not need a payment card to start one.

5.2 If you have not added a payment method by the end of the trial, your access to the full library ends and you are not charged.

5.3 If you add a payment method during the trial, the Plan you chose starts automatically when the trial ends, and your first payment is taken then.

5.4 There is one free trial per person. We may decline or end a trial if we reasonably believe the same person has already had one.

6. Payment and automatic renewal

6.1 Plans are paid in advance. A Monthly Plan is charged every month and an Annual Plan every year, on the date your Plan started.

6.2 Card payments on the Website are processed by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.

6.3 Your Plan renews automatically at the end of each billing period, and the payment is taken from your payment method, until you cancel.

6.4 We will email you before an Annual Plan renews.

6.5 If a payment fails, we will tell you and give you time to update your payment method. If it is still not paid, we may pause your access to the full library until it is.

7. Price changes and changes to the Services

7.1 We may change the price of a Plan. If we change the price of your Plan, we will email you at least 14 days before the new price applies. You can cancel before then, and you will not be charged the new price.

7.2 We regularly add, update and retire courses, features and tools. If we make a change that materially reduces what your Plan gives you, we will tell you, and you can cancel and ask for a refund of the unused part of your current billing period.

8. Cancelling and refunds

8.1 Cancelling. You can cancel your Plan at any time from your account page or by emailing support@theinvestmentanalyst.com. When you cancel, your Plan stops renewing and you keep access until the end of the billing period you have paid for.

8.2 Our 14-day refund promise. You can ask for a full refund within 14 days of:

  • your first payment for a Plan; or
  • an Annual Plan renewing.

Email support@theinvestmentanalyst.com. We will refund you to your original payment method within 14 days of your request, and your access to the full library ends when the refund is made.

8.3 Outside clause 8.2, payments already made are not refunded, except where clause 7.2, clause 21.3 or the law says otherwise.

8.4 Your legal right to cancel. If you are a consumer in the United Kingdom or the European Union, you have a legal right to cancel within 14 days of buying a Plan. Because your access starts straight away, at checkout you agree that the Services begin immediately. The refund promise in clause 8.2 covers the same 14 days in full, so you lose nothing by this.

8.5 This clause does not apply to purchases made in our Apps, which Apple or Google handle (see clause 9).

9. Purchases in our Apps

9.1 If you subscribe in one of our Apps, Apple or Google sells and bills that subscription, at their own prices, which may include VAT or other taxes.

9.2 Apple's or Google's terms apply to that purchase. You manage, cancel or ask for a refund through your Apple or Google account, not through us.

9.3 Deleting the App or your Account does not cancel an App store subscription. Turn off automatic renewal in your Apple or Google account first.

10. Referral credit

[Include only if the referral program is live. Confirm the current reward before publishing.]

10.1 If you invite a friend and they become a paying member, you may earn credit on your Website billing account, as described on the invite page at the time.

10.2 Credit has no cash value and can be used only against Website billing, not App store purchases.

10.3 We may withdraw credit if the payment that earned it is refunded or disputed, or if the referral breaks the program's rules. We may change or end the program at any time; credit you have already earned stays on your account.

11. Progress features

11.1 The Services include progress features such as XP, levels, badges, streaks, quests and leaderboards. They exist to track and encourage your learning.

11.2 They have no cash value. They cannot be exchanged, transferred or redeemed for money, goods or services, and we may change or withdraw them at any time. Prizes in a prize competition are covered separately by clause 12.

11.3 Before 31 March 2026, some reward features were provided by Rocket Learning Rewards Limited ("Rocket"). That arrangement has ended. Rocket no longer provides any part of the Services, and its terms and privacy policy no longer apply to your use of them.

12. Prize competitions

12.1 From time to time we run competitions in which players can win prizes, such as gift cards, for example in our market-call challenges.

12.2 Our competitions are free to enter. No purchase, trial or Plan is needed to enter or to win, and paying members have no better chance of winning than anyone else.

12.3 Each competition has its own published rules, which set out who can enter, how entries are judged, how winners are chosen, the prizes and when they are delivered. The rules of a competition take priority over this clause where the two differ.

12.4 Unless a competition's rules say otherwise:

  • entrants must be 18 or over and live where the competition is lawful;
  • our staff and their families cannot win prizes;
  • a prize is as described, with no cash alternative, and cannot be transferred;
  • we may ask a winner to confirm their identity and eligibility before a prize is sent;
  • if a winner cannot be contacted within 14 days, or is not eligible, we may award the prize to the next eligible entrant;
  • any tax due on a prize is the winner's responsibility; and
  • we may change, suspend or end a competition if something outside our reasonable control affects it, or if we suspect cheating, and we may disqualify any entry that breaks the rules.

13. Ava and AI-generated content

13.1 Ava, our AI coach, and some other parts of the Services use artificial intelligence. Their answers are generated automatically and can be wrong, incomplete or out of date.

13.2 Ava's answers are education, not investment advice. Check anything important against the course material or a qualified adviser.

13.3 Do not enter sensitive personal information, or confidential information belonging to your employer or anyone else, into Ava.

14. Education, not investment advice

14.1 Everything on the Website and in the Services, including courses, tools, models, data, Ava's answers and any commentary on companies or markets, is for education only. It is not investment, financial, tax or legal advice, and it is not a recommendation or offer to buy or sell any investment.

14.2 We are not authorized or regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority. Capital is at risk, and past performance is not a reliable guide to future results. Before making an investment decision, do your own research and, where appropriate, take advice from a suitably qualified adviser who is authorized to give it.

14.3 Prices and market data in the Services come from third parties, may be delayed and are for education only. We do not guarantee that they are accurate or complete.

14.4 Completing a course, a skills check or a certificate shows what you have learned with us. It is not a professional or regulatory qualification unless we say so.

15. Using the Services properly

15.1 When you use the Services, including any messages, comments, profiles or answers you submit, you must not:

  • post anything unlawful, abusive, threatening, harassing, defamatory, obscene or discriminatory;
  • encourage or promote violence;
  • impersonate anyone, including our staff;
  • send spam or unauthorized advertising;
  • try to break, overload or get around the security of the Services;
  • copy, scrape or download Content in bulk, or use it to train AI models, except as clause 16 allows;
  • share your Account or resell access to the Services; or
  • cheat in skills checks, competitions or progress features.

15.2 We may monitor and keep copies of messages sent to us or through the Services, to keep the Services safe and to answer you.

15.3 If you send us suggestions or feedback, we may use them without paying you.

15.4 We answer messages in English and may not be able to answer messages in other languages.

16. Intellectual property

16.1 The Content is owned by us or by those who license it to us, and is protected by the intellectual property laws of the United Kingdom and other countries.

16.2 While you have access, you may view and use the Content for your own personal learning. You may not copy, distribute, sell, publish or otherwise reuse it without our written permission, except where the law allows (for example, the exceptions in Chapter III of the Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988).

16.3 Some Content belongs to third parties, including market data, company names and logos, and licensed images. Those rights stay with their owners.

16.4 You keep ownership of anything you submit to the Services. You give us permission to use it to run and improve the Services.

17.1 The Website may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content. A link is not an endorsement.

17.2 You may link to our home page. To link to other pages, please ask us first at support@theinvestmentanalyst.com.

18. Privacy and your personal data

18.1 We handle your personal data in line with the UK General Data Protection Regulation and the Data Protection Act 2018 and, where it applies, the EU General Data Protection Regulation. Our Privacy Policy at www.theinvestmentanalyst.com/privacy explains what we collect, why, how long we keep it and your rights. It forms part of these terms.

18.2 We use your personal data to:

  • provide the Services and run your Account;
  • take payments;
  • personalize your learning, including your dashboard, recommendations and skills results;
  • send you messages about your Account, trial and Plan, and learning reminders by email or App notification (you can turn reminders off in your settings);
  • answer your questions, including through Ava; and
  • if you agree, tell you about new courses and offers (you can unsubscribe at any time).

18.3 We share personal data only with service providers that help us run the Services, such as our learning platform, payment processor, Apple and Google, email and notification providers, cloud hosting, analytics and AI providers, under contracts that protect it, or where the law requires us to. We do not sell your personal data.

18.4 We use cookies and similar technologies, as explained in our Privacy Policy and the cookie banner on the Website.

19. Availability

19.1 We aim to keep the Services available at all times, but we cannot promise that they will be uninterrupted or free of errors. We may need to pause them for maintenance or updates.

19.2 We are not responsible for interruptions caused by things outside our reasonable control, such as failures of internet or hosting providers, power failures, natural events or acts of government.

19.3 If the Services are unavailable for an extended period because of a fault on our side, contact us and we will offer a fair credit or refund.

19.4 You are responsible for your own devices, internet connection and security software.

20. Our liability to you

20.1 Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else the law does not allow us to limit or exclude. Nothing in these terms affects your legal rights as a consumer.

20.2 We are not liable for any loss that was not reasonably foreseeable, or for any loss arising from investment, trading or career decisions you make.

20.3 If you use the Services for business purposes, we are not liable for loss of profit, revenue, business or opportunity.

20.4 Except as clause 20.1 says, our total liability to you for all claims is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim arose.

21. Suspending or closing your Account

21.1 You can close your Account at any time. You can ask us to delete it at once, or at the end of your current billing period. If you delete it at once, any unused part of the billing period is lost, unless clause 8.2 applies.

21.2 We may suspend or close your Account if you seriously or repeatedly break these terms, or if we must do so by law. We will tell you why by email, unless the law prevents us.

21.3 If we close a paid Account for any other reason, we will refund the unused part of your current billing period.

22. Messages and notices

22.1 We send messages about your Account, trial, Plan and payments, such as trial reminders and payment notices. These are part of the Services, and we send them even if you have unsubscribed from marketing.

22.2 Marketing emails are sent only if you agree to them. You can unsubscribe using the link in any of them.

22.3 Notices to us should go to support@theinvestmentanalyst.com or to our registered office. An email is treated as received on the day it is sent if that is a business day, and otherwise on the next business day. A letter sent by first class post is treated as received three business days after posting.

23. Changes to these terms

23.1 We may update these terms from time to time, for example to reflect changes to the Services or the law. The date at the top shows when they last changed.

23.2 If a change materially affects a paid Plan, we will email you at least 14 days before it takes effect, and you can cancel before then. Otherwise, the updated terms apply from the next time you use the Services.

24. General

24.1 If any part of these terms is found to be unenforceable, the rest still applies.

24.2 If we do not enforce a right straight away, we can still enforce it later.

24.3 Only you and we have rights under these terms. No one else can enforce them.

24.4 We may transfer our rights and obligations under these terms to another organization, and will tell you if we do. Your rights under these terms will not be affected. You may not transfer your Account or Plan to anyone else.

24.5 These terms, together with our Privacy Policy and the rules of any competition you enter, are the whole agreement between you and us. They replace any earlier versions.

25. Law and courts

25.1 These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales.

25.2 If you are a consumer, you can bring a claim in the courts of England and Wales. If you live in Scotland or Northern Ireland, you can also bring a claim in your local courts. If you live elsewhere, you also keep any protections that the law of your country gives you and that cannot be excluded.

25.3 If you use the Services for business purposes, the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
